What’s happening next week (13/6/16 – 19/06/16)

We would like to wish the following residents a Happy Birthday:  15th June, Felicity Walker (Unit 42) and 16th June, Jenny Westerhof (Unit 56).

A presentation on the Telecare station will be held in the Sonnehof Manor House on Monday, 13 June at 10:30am. Anton de Beer will run through the uses and benefits of the Telecare system which is set up in all our units and he will be available to answer any questions you may have. Tea and Coffee will be served.

This will be followed by a meeting for ELV Bergvliet residents only in the Clubhouse on Monday, 13 June at 4pm. The Management Committee (Mancom) will report back to you from the previous meeting and subsequent discussions held with Amdec. This will be followed by a Q&A session. Please make every effort to attend.

Our Tuesday Social Night dinner to be held on 14 June includes a choice of Grilled Linefish with Hollandaise Asparagus or Beef Stroganoff served with Tagliatelle plus Milk Tart and Cream for dessert. Please book with Andréa at reception on Ext 300 by 4pm on Monday afternoon. Price R95 per person.

Our monthly Sunday Lunch will take place on 19th June at 1pm. The menu includes: Pea & Ham Soup with Potbread followed by Roast Sirloin of Beef with Yorkshire pudding Mediterranean and Roast Chicken served with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables. A selection of dessert and tea/coffee. Price is R120 per person. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300. It’s also Father’s Day on 19th June.

The Music Evening is to be held on Wednesday, 15 June at 7pm. First on the music programme is the Romance for Violin and Orchestra No. 2 in F major, Op. 50 by Ludwig van Beethoven. The second part of the programme is a performance of Brahms’s Violin Concerto. Please call Herman Poelmann on Ext 115, if you would like to attend – this is for catering and seating purposes. You are welcome to bring your own wine and refreshments on the evening.

The Movie on Saturday, 18 June is last Vegas and it follows Four sixtysomething pals -- Billy, Paddy, Archie and Sam decide to throw a Las Vegas bachelor party for the only one of them who has remained single. It is their intention to run wild for four straight days. Played by Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline. You are welcome to bring your own wine or refreshments. Daily Lunch Specials continue this week and we encourage residents to make use of the dining room. The menu includes homemade soup and fresh bread rolls served every day or a “special of the day” such as Mondays – Pie; Tuesday – Pasta; Wednesday – Chicken; Thursday Casserole; and Friday - Fish & Chips. These simple meals are priced from R30 – R60 and will also be available to take home. We would like to suggest that you bring your own dishes to the club house. Please book with Andréa at reception on Ext 300 by 4pm on the previous day. See menu for this week attached.

Please diarise the month end Italian Dinner on Friday, 24 June at 7pm – the menu includes minestrone soup, antipasta and chicken or beef lasagne. Cost is R135 per person. Please book with Andréa on Ext 300 by no later than Wednesday, 22,June.
