[Melrose Arch Tenant] Water Shutdown-26 January 2023

Dear All

As per the above subject line,  we have been advised by Council that there will be a possible water shutdown on 26 January 2023, from 08h00am to 22h00pm.

See communication below:

Suburbs affected: Melrose, Saxonwold, Killarney, Dunkeld, Parktown North, Parkwood, Rosebank, parts of Houghton Estate, Forest Town, Parkview, Birdhaven, Riviera, Melrose North, Melrose Estate.

Joburg Water will be tying in new pipes in Melrose and so will shutdown the water supplying this area.

This may affect the other suburbs on the system - typically you should not lose water completely, you may have low pressure.

Of course during the current heatwave, more water is used, so the system may drain quicker than normal and the taps may run dry.

Please use water sparingly during the tie in.

Note that there could be delays due to unforseen circumstancs. Please keep an eye on @jhbwater on Twitter.

Please note that Melrose Arch have measures in place for these types of situations in terms of bulk water tanks, to ensure ample supply to the precinct.  We will keep you updated.
