After a troubled winter, with the third wave of Covid-19 and riots and looting creating havoc across the country, there are new shoots of hope appearing as the weather warms up, South Africa’s lockdown restrictions have been eased and life has returned to somewhat normal again. Here at Melrose Arch, we're excited to be out and about on the streets and piazzas, with several activations lined up this weekend (with all Covid-19 protocols in place, of course). Whether you're a culture vulture, petrolhead, foodie or simply someone who wants to sit back and relax in the sunshine with friends, we've got something for you.

Spring into All-White
White is fashionable and sophisticated, and symbolises fresh new beginnings, faith and hope. Come dressed to impress in all-white on 4-5 September and enjoy a meal alfresco with family or friends at your favourite restaurant on the Piazza, Square or High Street. Popular band Simple Stories will be performing on the Piazza and singer Andy Klee will be on the Square on Saturday, 4 September and Sunday, 5 September from 12h00 to 15h00. There’ll be live entertainment or a DJ playing background music every weekend on the Piazza throughout September. A taste of Turkey
Melrose Arch is pleased to welcome a new restaurant, Istanbul Kebab, to the Square, adding Middle Eastern cuisine to the many international flavours found in the precinct. Serving some of the healthiest and most delicious halaal Turkish and Mediterranean food in Joburg, Istanbul Kebab’s dishes are freshly prepared upon order, using authentic recipes, traditional cooking methods and the finest ingredients. What’s on at Melrose Arch

Thursday, 2 September – Sunday, 24 October
The Melrose Gallery’s fourth annual SculptX exhibition launches on Thursday, 2 September. The largest sculpture fair of its kind in South Africa, works by some of the country’s most well-known artists will be showcased in several indoor and outdoor spaces throughout Melrose Arch, including 16 High Street (opposite Rodizio Brazilian Grill & Tapas) and the upper High Street. Get vaccinated!
The Covid-19 vaccination programme is well underway, with 19,97% of the population having been vaccinated – that’s a total of 12 million people, with 5,6 million people being fully vaccinated (as at 30 August, 2021). If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, we urge you to do so and play your part in helping to eradicate this dreadful disease that has wrought havoc on millions of lives around the world in the last 18 months. Should you need your first or second Covid-19 vaccine, Clicks at Melrose Arch is administering them from Monday to Friday, 09h00 to 16h00; limited to 90 customers per day. Walk-in customers, with or without medical aid, are welcome. All you need to do is register on the government’s vaccine registration portal (https://vaccine.enroll.health.gov.za/#/<https://amdec.rocketseed.net/servlet/link/18775/123629/23557271/440668>), as well as with your medical aid, and remember to take your ID and medical aid card with you when you go for your vaccine.
