[Melrose Arch Tenant] EVENT | Mandela Statue Unveiling - 11 July 2018 | Square - Melrose Arch

        Dear all,

To celebrate the Mandela 100, and what would have been Mr Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday,
and as a contribution towards the 'Mandela 100' celebrations that have been endorsed by the Nelson Mandela Foundation;
Melrose Arch have given The Melrose Gallery permission to host the unveiling of Professor Pitika Ntuli's monument to Nelson Mandela on 11 July at 4 for 4:30pm till 5:30pm.
The sculpture took 5 years to carve from black granite, weighs approximately 18 tons, stands more than 4,3m's tall and is to be unveiled on the Melrose Square to dignitaries,
TMG, Professor Ntuli & MA guests, media and general public.

Road Closure
9 July | The High Street (from Jb's Corner - Paul Restaurant ) will be closed to traffic from 6am - 4pm for the arrival and offloading of the statue via a heavy load vehicle
11 July | The High Street (from Whiteley Rd @Fire & Ice Hotel - Crescent @Paul Restaurant) will be closed to traffic from 12am - 12pm
