<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Following communications earlier this week where we informed you of a resident in Frail care that tested positive for Covid-19 I wish to further update now on the actions taken thus far.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">It is always our intention to remain transparent with residents and family members.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">To date we have conducted 125 COVID-19 tests, made up of all Care Centre residents, all healthcare staff in Frailcare and in the clinic, Western province catering staff and Evergreen staff, we
have 16 results still outstanding. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We have an excellent relationship with Ampath laboratories and they have been excellent in delivering speedy results. We continue to retest staff and residents on an ongoing basis<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The updated results of our tests are as follow:<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoListParagraph"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">We remain in contact with the hospital and his doctor on a daily basis. The other resident remains isolated in our Care Centre and is asymptomatic.

<p class="MsoListParagraph"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">should their home have sufficient space and they do not have extended family in the house. The first choice is to go to a provincial facility to be quarantined or be admitted to hospital
if life threatening. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoListParagraph"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">As you can imagine it is an extremely emotional process to go through, many of our carers are scared, nervous and concerned. It is important to note that nobody has displayed any symptoms

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Our prayers and wishes for a full recovery go out to every one of these staff members. Also, to their families who must also be traumatised knowing their family member has contracted the virus.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Over 95% of all persons who have contracted the virus are projected to fully recover.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The only way to track this virus is to continuously test, isolate and retest. We have contracted with a deep cleaning fumigation company that has been in the village 3 times to fumigate Lifestyle
centre and public areas, <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">staff facilities and main kitchen, frail care and houses that our staff have been living in. They are extremely professional and the services delivered have been a great help to our ongoing sanitizing
and cleaning regime. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">There has been a video ‘clip’ doing the rounds on social media which has caused some concern amongst you and your families. This is fully understandable.

<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-language:EN-ZA">Unfortunately, we cannot always keep ahead of social media and control what is portrayed. We have responded and dealt with it appropriately and can assure you that
our staff wellbeing is extremely important to us.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
