        Dear Resident,

Safety and Security

Your safety and security is our top priority.

As you know, we take extensive measures and employ multiple layers of protection
to ensure that our villages are secure at all times.

We get bombarded daily with media reports that crime is on the rise. The risk of crime
is ever present, again we urge you to adhere to the following recommended safety and
security related guidelines:

*          Windows and doors to be secured and locked at night. Do not leave keys in the door
in case of emergency.
*          When you plan to be out of the village for extended periods of time, please inform
Kim or myself.
*          Secure valuables in a safe.
*          For those of you who live on your own, keep your telecare remote at hand or on your
person.
*          Wear your telecare buddy band when you leave the village.
*          Test your telecare system on a regular basis - at least once per month.
*          When outside the village always remain vigilant. Be aware of your surroundings and
take note of what is going on in the vicinity.
*          Walk with purpose to where you're headed. Rather join a group than go out on your own.
*          In the unfortunate event that something untoward might occur, report it immediately to
village management, and to the police, if necessary.

We have a zero tolerance policy regarding theft by staff. All staff working in the village have
been subjected to stringent background and criminal checks. When a theft occurs, staff are
subjected to polygraph tests.

We have and will continue to invest in the high tech security and physical perimeter security
systems to create a safe and secure environment within the village.
