[Evergreen Muizenberg] 8 December 2021 : COVID-19 update in the village

        Dear Resident,

A brief note to bring you all up to date with the latest covid-19 situation in the village.
We are finding the current variant very contagious and fortunately so far not as "deadly" as the previous ones.

Again it is up to each one of us to contain the spread of the virus by acting responsibly. It is simple, we are
spreading the virus and putting not only ourselves at risk but fellow residents, family and friends.

  *   If you are showing any flu-like symptoms stay at home and isolate. If you would like to be tested, contact

the office

  *   If any of you are nervous about what is going on around you and what you are reading or hearing across

the different media platforms, stay at home and isolate.

We do not want to be prescriptive and force situations and lock-downs on you and the village. It is on each one
of you to act responsibility and take matters in your own hand, simple, be responsible.
Don't attend social gatherings and don't venture out the village if you are not feeling well or unsafe.

As mentioned in my last communication we are finding around a 15% infection rate. Of the numerous test
conducted in the last two days we have had three residents and a staff member return positive infection results.

  *   Erica Shearer, is with her daughter isolating
  *   Maureen Lawrence is isolating at home, Elred returned a negative result
  *   Colleen Gouws is isolating in her apartment.

  *   Kathleen (Kathy) Julies, was immediately sent home after testing

All residents and Kathleen are doing well under the circumstances and maintaining a positive demeaner, we wish
all a safe and speedy recovery

Please observe the simple basic rules

  *   wear a three ply cloth mask when in company, covering both nose and mouth.
  *   sanitise and wash your hands regularly and thoroughly.
  *   practice 'social distancing', a distance of at least 2m / 6ft
  *   if you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive or you are not
          feeling well let us know, stay at home we will come to you
