[Evergreen Muizenberg] Evergreen Muizenberg Covid-19 Care Centre case

        Dear Resident,

COVID-19 REPORT

I can confirm that yesterday, 25 May a suspected case of COVID-19 has tested positive in the
Care Centre (frail care) facility of Evergreen Muizenberg.

Our patient is an 86-year-old male who was admitted as a frail care patient in January 2019.

Our medical staff identified and isolated the patient and consulted with the necessary medical authorities.

In the afternoon, on the advice of his doctor, he was transported via ambulance to a nearby hospital and
admitted to ICU.

Our patient (prior to being transferred to hospital) as well as medical staff and any further possible
contacts have all been isolating since the patient's condition was confirmed.

Our predetermined emergency procedures were enacted. Immediately our process commenced to test all
frail care residents and medical staff. The results of these tests and further information will follow
within 48 hours.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our patient and his family and we wish our resident a full recovery.

Now, more than ever, we would like to again reiterate to all residents within the village to take the utmost
precautions when moving around in the village.

Please ensure that you wear a three-ply cloth mask at all times when leaving your home; wash your hands
and sanitize every hour on the hour; practice social distancing of at least 2 meters and avoid social gatherings.

The seriousness of this virus is escalated in people over the age of 60 years and even further exacerbated by
those with comorbidities.

As you all know by now, our number one priority is the health and well-being of our residents and staff. We
take this responsibility extremely seriously.

On Monday 1 June, our country moves to Lockdown Level 3. It is highly likely that we will see a massive
increased rate of virus infections. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you stay at home where you will be
as safe as possible.

Should you show any virus symptoms, such as: -

  *   a sore throat;
  *   a fever or increased temperature;
  *   a dry cough;
  *   body aches;
  *   or shortness of breath;
please immediately contact the management team by telephone. Please do not contact anyone in person,
as you might inadvertently spread the virus further.

We are extremely disappointed that we are having to report this first case of COVD-19. However, it is our
company philosophy to always be transparent and honest with our residents.

Please rest assured that the Management and Health teams are focussed and determined to professionally
manage this process. We will do so with urgency and great care.
