        Dear Resident,

I trust you are keeping well and cool during this particularly hot and windy weather spell.
Just a short note to keep you informed regarding some important village matters

Residents Committee

David Rosenberg, who was the vice-chairman and who filled the financial portfolio position, has resigned. He has been an invaluable member of the committee and I am sure you will all join me in thanking him for his valuable contribution as a Rescom member and wishing him well. A special thanks to him, too, for all the help and time he has afforded residents in their financial matters. I am sure  David will be willing  to continue to help residents in these matters
Denise Elkin was unanimously elected as the new Residents committee vice-chairman. A decision was taken at the meeting, that for now, no resident will be co-opted to fill the vacant position but rather as and when advice is sought on financial  issues various suitably qualified residents will be consulted.

Staffing

As previously conveyed, Kim Whitworth will be joining us as assistant village manager from Monday 20 January. I particularly look forward to working with Kim and I am sure you will all joining me in giving her a huge Evergreen Muizenberg welcome. Mandy Mulders who many of you have been asking me about will be re-joining us as village administrator next month, February.
With all the arriving there is also some departing, Romeo Human, our maintenance manager will be leaving us at the end of the month. I am sorry to see him leave and wish him well in his new exciting position. Christo will 'hold the fort', as usual, until a maintenance manager has been appointed.

Medical Aid and Care options

Please find attached an overview of medical aids and cover that you can expect from your medical aid . Thank you David Rosenberg for your work and time in putting this very useful document together.

TeleCare emergency response
It is vitally important that you test your TeleCare emergency unit RED button regularly, at least once every two weeks. Press it firmly once and wait for a response from the TeleCare call centre. This is your communication to us in an emergency. If you have any doubts regarding its working please report this to the office immediately.
