[Evergreen Muizenberg] Confirmed case of COVID19 in Johannesburg Retirement Village

        Dear Resident,

It is with great concern that I inform you of  a confirmed case of COVID- 19 at a Retirement Village in Johannesburg.

You might ask, "Why are you sharing news from Gauteng with us" ? Its rather simple, to demonstrate to you how
important a strict lockdown regime is.

This person has been in contact with 23 other villagers and they are all now under quarantine as they try to establish
who these 23 villagers have been in contact with, the situation is tense.

This Retirement Village, who did not impose strict measures like Evergreen has, allowed their villagers to go for walks
and allowed residents out of the Village.
I have attached an internal communication letter that was send out by their Village Manager yesterday after this case
was confirmed in an attempt to ONLY now impose stricter rules in their Village.

Our thoughts and prayers are with these residents and their Frail Care staff who are now in the face of the Virus and
are potentially fighting for people's lives.

While this is a very sad situation we must learn from this as it shows that isolation and the strict rules we are enforcing
in our village has kept us from being in a similar position.

We must fight to keep this Virus out of our Village.

  *   Wear a face mask, there has been a lot of debate regarding this, we recommend that you wear one.
