        Dear Resident,

Just a gentle reminder regarding David Philander's farewell on Wednesday, 31 July.

We would like to wish David well, after 10 years of dedicated service at Evergreen.

Some time ago, the residents committee after much deliberation, decided that in future there would be no requests to residents for collections of monies for various reasons. Be it Year-end, Christmas, babies, marriages, farewells etc.
It was felt that residents were being put under pressure to make these financial contributions.

We have however, had numerous requests from residents to make a contribution to David.
This will be entirely up to each individual resident and on an anonymous basis. Please do not feel pressurised to contribute anything. This collection also does not prevent any resident of giving David something personally.

An unmarked wooden box has been placed at reception for any contribution. I will count it in the presence of a residents committee member and ask a resident to hand over the gift at the farewell.
