Coming up in the next week:-

  *   Join us for Sugarbird Fynbos Gin Tasting sponsored by Evergreen and Daniel Perrins from Siris Vintners on Thursday, 29 August in the Bistro at 4pm, three different gins available to taste.

We have now closed this activity as we are oversubscribed. Don't despair those who have missed out, we will be having another tasting.

  *   Our Annual General Meeting is to be held on Tuesday, 3 September in the Lifestyle Centre.

You would have received your AGM pack by now. Nominations for Residents Committee members close on Tuesday 27 August. Remember to set time aside for a celebratory drink and snacks after the AGM to socialise with your fellow residents.

  *   We have Alida's Mobile Clothing Shop with us on Tuesday, from 10h00 and Penny Lile Biscuits on Thursday the 29th between 10h00 and 11h30.

  *   On Friday, the last Friday of the month, we have our normal Month End Madness Fish / Calamari & Chips for R50.00, this normally sells for R62.00
          Please book at the Bistro by dialling 2253.

  *   Vox our preferred Internet Service Provider (ISP) will be giving us another presentation on your different fibre bundle options, at 11.00am Wednesday at the TV area in the Lifestyle Centre.

  Forthcoming events:

  *   Arbor Week - Evergreen Muizenberg will be celebrating this international day by planting a Tree Aloe (Aloedendron barberae) on Monday 2 September at 10.30am. Please join us just outside the Lifestyle Centre and witness this great initiative.

  *   Our ever popular Market Day organised by the folks on the 'other side of the mountain' will be held on Thursday 5 September from 09h00 in the Lifestyle Centre. Goodies for sale include homemade jams, cheeses, chocolates, breads and a lot more.........

  *   Keep Saturday 26 October open for our Annual Muizenberg Craft Market which will kick off at 2pm. The craft market organising committee have asked for items for their "White Elephant" table. It can be glassware, crockery, chinaware, practically anything. As the saying goes "One man's trash is another man's treasure". Please drop off these items at reception from 1 September. The proceeds from the market go to the Grassy Park SPCA

  *   The usual Pub Evening on Friday 6th September will have an added reason to attend, Keith Jewell will be at the keyboard entertaining from 4.15pm

  *   Kind2Hearing will be visiting, not for their normal audiology testing, but for Sound Bingo at 10.30am on 10 September in the Lifestyle Centre. This sounds very interesting, come and join. Please book your seat at reception.

  *   Friday 13 September (lucky for some) we have a fantastic day drip to Postberg Flower Reserve up the West Coast organised. Experience the splendour of this annual occurrence that only lasts for one month.

The shuttle will depart form Muizenberg at 9.00am and return at 4.00pm. Cost R120.00, book and pay at Reception, only 13 seats available.

  *   EXBLOX is with us again on Tuesday 3 September. I want to encourage residents to participate, this has some amazing benefits. Improves dexterity, improves memory, mental & physical stimulation, give it a try. R50.00 per session, please book at reception and meet in the Library area at 11.00am.

  Village General

  *   FTTH - We are at the last phases of the huge project. They have started fitting the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) box, this devise connects the fibre to your home modem.

We now hope to go 'live' by 2 September.
Reception or Maintenance will contact you to have these ONT boxes installed.

  *   Painting of underground parking bays and numbers continues over weekends.

  *   Village Shuttle - our weekly transport shuttle service to the Blue Route as well as Melomed Hospital is working well.

The service is available on a Monday at 9h30 and Wednesday at 13h30. On a Wednesday we have added "Fruit Lovers Market" as a stop.

Please book your seat with reception. A R20 nominal fee will be charged per passenger which can be billed to your levy account.

  *   Don't forget the white "U-Turn" bin in the laundry. Any unwanted clothing items, too small, too big, too old, simply put in the bin or you can also drop off at apartment 101, Harrison.

  *   Dog Walkers. We have had a number of complaints from residents regarding dog walkers not picking up after their dogs. Please respect the environment you live in and your fellow residents that live in the village and do the right thing, pick up after your dog.
