[Evergreen Lake Michelle] COVID-19 Update

        Dear Residents,

I hope you are keeping well and that all your Christmas shopping is done.

After speaking to many of you over the phone today I can confirm that most of us are aware of someone in our family or social circles that either
have Covid-19 or have recently had it and we are all very well aware of impact it is has on the lives of those infected and their families.
A quote shared earlier this week is as accurate as I can put it, " we isolate now so that when we gather again, no one is missing."

As we enter 2 weeks where I am sure many will still be choosing to gather with their family and friends. I would like to remind everyone
that we need to be very aware of who we meet with and also if they have been in contact with anyone else that might have tested positive or show symptoms.
Unfortunately not everyone isolate as required to protect those around them nor do they proactively manage the situation they find themselves in.

We have received a notice from the department of health stating the following:

"On Friday, there were more than 2000 Covid -19 patients in the Western Cape hospitals. More than 200 of them were in ICU.
Many hospitals in the province are nearly at full capacity. The Western Cape health department said that it is looking at adding more beds."

This message is not to scare anyone but rather to paint a very realistic picture of the current status of our health system.
I would like to request that any resident that is currently (and also going forward) isolating based on possible contact or showing of symptoms
share this information with me directly. For myself and the team to assist you in any way and also to protect other residents it is of
utmost importance that we are open and up front when dealing with possible Covid-19 infections.

I have also had some residents asking if the Noordhoek village is currently under lock down after other villages in the area went into complete lockdown.
We are not under lockdown and if we all act responsibly at all contact points we should maintain this as long as possible.
All facilities and common areas are still accessible to residents and can be booked for use with the duty manager. I do ask that
we stick to the protocols in place and make use of the sanitizer available in all venues before and after the use of any equipment.
The Bistro operates on an amended schedule from 07:00 to 12:00 to align with the split shifts that the rest of the village team is running on.

I would like to encourage everyone to stay in touch and continue with all the festive wishes to neighbours and friends
and therefore I am also sharing an updated contact list.
