We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Shelly Ellman-Brown (#219) on the 27th December and Roy Munro (#303) on 29th December 2023.

This Week:
- Shopping Transport will meet at Reception at 09h30 on 28th December.
- Knives Out: A Glass Onion starring Daniel Craig Movie Night will take place on Friday, 29 December at 6pm. Tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton)  invites his friends for a getaway on his private Greek island. When someone turns up dead, Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is put on the case. It’s a deliciously twisty remix of the classic British-style murder mystery/whodunnit!
- News Year’s Eve Bring & Share function is planned to see in 2024. Gather downstairs at around 8.30pm for something to eat and drink. Bring your own refreshments and a plate of snacks to share. Pam Day (#106) is co-ordinating this event, please call her on Ext 1506 if you need any additional information.

Housekeeping:
- In the event that you need us to assist you with anything after-hours, please call reception on Ext 1400 or my Cell number 0718576428 for help.
- The Bistro will operate as per weekend times for Christmas Day (25/12/23) and Day of Goodwill (26/12/23).

- There will be no domestic work services on these Public Holidays.

- Call reception to report any emergencies, as we have a list of available service providers that will be able to assist.

- Please also be reminded to test your telecare units regularly to ensure it is in working order throughout the festive period.
- Please note that Amanda George will be on annual leave until Wednesday, 10th January 2024. All other staff will be working through the December period.

The fires in the deep south have put a dampener on the festivities and we are very thankful for the firefighters including volunteers have been working non-stop since the fire broke out on Tuesday morning. In a statement on Thursday evening, Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) confirmed that the wildfire in the Simon’s Town area had charred about 1,140 hectares of land spanning private, public works and TMNP properties. On Friday morning shortly after midnight residents on the south side of Scarborough were starting to evacuate and not long after the communication came for residents in Hilltop Road, Scarborough to leave. The fire was also spreading into Cape Point on the south side of Scarborough. Evacuation of 96 households in Stonehaven, a housing estate on Glencairn Express just above Evergreen Noordhoek and towards Fish Hoek was also coordinated.
