        Dear Resident,

We are celebrating birthdays with Margaret Lee (Apt 119) on 2nd October and Georgina Adonis (domestic worker) on 7th October.

FRIDAY,07 OCT                     Fried Hake with Chips and Chef ‘s Salad
SATURDAY,08                       Resident Braai at 6pm
SUNDAY,09 OCT                   Butternut Soup with Homemade Bread Honey Glaze Gammon with Gravy , Roast Potato and Seasonal Vegetables/ Chocolate Mousse

Our Bistro Menu with a selection of breakfast, toasted sandwiches, cake plus hot and cold beverages.  Please be sure to give us a heads up by 4pm the day before if you would like to order the Daily Special in the bistro. The Deli Menu is available 5-days/week from 8am-5pm.
Please note that should you wish to enjoy the Deli menu that there will be delays between 12h00 –13h00 due to pre-ordered daily specials being served for lunch. Payment accepted on pre-paid account, credit or debit card. Breakfast is served till 11h30.

Activities coming up this week:

•                      Chair Exercise Group meets to stretch to music every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Recreation Room. ALL WELCOME

•                      Cake & Tea Thursday - Please join us on Thursday for Cake and a cup of Tea/Coffee and chats in the Bistro at 3pm for R25.00 per person.

•                      HNA Active Aging Class connects with residents to exercise in the recreation room on Fridays.

•                      Residents Braai – takes place every on Saturday evening.  Bring your own meat and refreshments and gather in the Bistro. Call Margaret Hull on Ext 1716 for additional information.

•                      World Hospice & Palliative Care Day - On Saturday 8th October 2022, all of us who are grieving or know people who are, will be wearing a ribbon on our right wrist. It can be any colour, shape or style of ribbon. See poster attached.

Building Refurbishment

•                      The team have completed the work on the North side and will continue to fill cracks and prepare to paint. The other team will be moving around the corner to the railway side and commence remedial work starting at 106,206 and 306. I urge you to close you windows due to grinding noise and dust over the next few days. If you have an small planter pots on the balconies please take them inside, if there are bigger ones then Andrew will be around to move them out of the way.  We are almost 50% complete.

General:

•                      Shopping Transport will meet at Village at 09h30 every alternate Tuesday. The next trip is planned for 04/10 (Blue Route) and 18/10 (Constantia Village)  - R30 per trip will be added to your levy account. It is important to book your seat with reception on Ext 1400. If we have no bookings by the Monday, we will cancel the trip for Tuesday.

•                      Just a reminder that we will collect Refuse Bins early on Monday. Please assist us and only put out your rubbish bins early on a Saturday (bins get emptied and swopped) and early on Monday morning (bins get washed and sanitized before they are replaced).

•                      Library – Please ensure that should you return a book to the library that you place it on the table clearly marked. We sanitize all books prior to putting them back on the shelf. Your cooperation is appreciated.

•                      Just a reminder that no medication must be given to any resident by another resident as this is a health and safety risk.

  *         Load Shedding continues to plague South Africa despite diesel being delivered to Eskom. We are keeping a beady eye on our generator reserves and we also have an extra 50L diesel in reserve for emergencies. So not to worry.
