Our meal offering includes a special of the day and Bistro Menu with a selection of breakfast, toasted sandwiches, cake plus hot and cold beverages.  Please be sure to give us a heads up by 4pm the day before if you would like to order the Daily Special in the bistro. The Deli Menu is available 7-days/week from 8am-5pm. Please note that should you wish to enjoy the Deli menu that there will be delays between 12h00 – 13h00 due to pre-ordered daily specials being served for lunch. Payment accepted on pre-paid account, credit or debit card.

Activities coming up this week:

  *   Bridge Club, is held in the Recreation Room every Tuesday at 2pm. All welcome.
  *   Chair Exercise Group meets to stretch to music every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Recreation Room
  *   Cake & Tea Thursday - Please join us on Thursday for Cake and a cup of Tea/Coffee and chats in the Bistro at 3pm for R25.00 per person.
  *   HNA Active Aging Class connects with residents to exercise in the recreation room on Fridays at 11am
  *   Residents Braai – takes place every on Saturday evening.  Bring your own meat and refreshments and gather in the Bistro. Call Margaret Hull on Ext 1716 for additional information
  *   National Save your Hearing Day – Tuesday, 31 May

Forthcoming Events:

  *   Evergreen Health Talk - Monday 06th June in the recreation room at 2pm. Evergreen Health’s Managing Director, Elize Porter and colleagues will be presenting information on Evergreen Health and the services they offer which include homecare, frail care, sub-acute and other areas of interest.  An update on progress of medical aid benefits will also be discussed and there will be time for Q&A. Please put your name down at reception if you would like to attend this session for seating and catering purpose. Tea & Biscuits will be served. (Please note it is NOT on Wednesday as per our original message).
  *   South African Theme Dinner - Wednesday 08th June in the Bistro, please book with the kitchen ext. 1404
  *   Monthly Bingo Night – Wednesday, 15th June at 7pm.
  *   Line Dancing Classes are set to commence in June at 10am in the Recreation Room. However, we need 8 people to start this class. Please contact Mrs. Lee ext. 1519 for booking and to confirm your spot.
  *   “Let’s Talk, Part ll” - A follow-up presentation and workshop session will be held on Monday, 20 June at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to join us for a follow-up presentation on having this important conversation with loved ones. Please book your seat at reception on Ext1400 if you wish to attend the presentation for catering purposes. Tea and Biscuits will be served.
  *   Movie Night - will take place on Friday, 24 June at 6pm `

Housekeeping:

  *   Window Wash will be on-site Tuesday 07th June at 9am.
  *   Shopping Transport will meet at Village at 09h15 every alternate Tuesday. The next trip is planned for 31/05 [Constantia Village] and 14/06 (Blue Route). R30 per trip will be added to your levy account. It is important to book your seat with reception on Ext 1400. If we have no bookings by the Monday, we will cancel the trip for Tuesday.
  *   Just a reminder that we will collect Refuse Bins early on Monday. Please assist us and only put out your rubbish bins early on a Saturday (bins get emptied and swopped) and early on Monday morning (bins get washed and sanitized before they are replaced).
  *   Library – Please ensure that should you return a book to the library that you place it on the table clearly marked. We sanitize all books prior to putting them back on the shelf. Your cooperation is appreciated.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our newly elected Resident’s Committee (ResCom): Kathy Scott, Margie Lee, Kelvin Barry, Di Everett and Sue Butcher. I wish them success in the coming year and I know that they will look after each residents’ best interest. Please feel free to contact them if there are any issues that you feel need to be raised with Management or come through and chat with me anytime – I have an open-door policy.

We respectfully request that each resident takes responsibility for their safety by wearing a mask and to wash hands and sanitize often. With Winter descending on us, please keep warm and healthy.
