On his death earlier this year, Peter Klatzow left behind an oeuvre of more than 500 compositions,  several awards and an international reputation as one of South Africa’s foremost composers. These works were chosen to show the diversity of his output.

GISELLE AT ARTSCAPE

The CPO is accompanying Cape Town City Ballet in several performances of Giselle, which opens on March 18 at Artscape Opera and runs until April 9.

The company will be joined by the CPO and Brandon Phillips and by International guest artists Vadim Muntagirov (Principal of The Royal Ballet), Tatiana Melnik (Principal at Hungarian National Ballet) and Brandon Lawrence (Principal at Birmingham Royal Ballet) on March 18, 19, 21,23,25 and April 9. The pride of South Africa’s artists takes to the Artscape Stage on March 9 to strut their stuff and raise awareness not only of the entire LGBTIQA+ community but of Nkoli House, a project that is taking shape as a Community Centre, Senior Care Facility and Youth Crisis Centre in the heart of the city. Daylin Sass (left) and Three Tons of Fun join artists like Craig Lucas and Natalia da Rocha. An interview with Tommy Patterson, whose dream it was to present this show, will be in WeekendSpecial.co.za soon. Tommy will be on Cape Diary on FMR on Friday in the noon show.

The inaugural Franschhoek Chamber Music Festival was a triumph! The music, atmosphere and bubbly on hand combined with the art exhibition to provide an unparalleled experience.
