Our meal offering includes a special of the day and Bistro Menu with a selection of breakfast, toasted sandwiches, cake plus hot and cold beverages.  Please be sure to give us a heads up by 4pm the day before if you would like to order the Daily Special in the bistro. The Deli Menu is available 7-days/week from 8am-5pm. Please note that should you wish to enjoy the Deli menu that there will be delays between 12h00 – 13h00 due to pre-ordered daily specials being served for lunch. Payment accepted on pre-paid account, credit or debit card.

Activities coming up this week:

  *   Telecare Presentation – Monday 13th June at 2pm in the Recreation Room. Please book your seat at reception on Ext1400.
  *   Bridge Club, is held in the Recreation Room every Tuesday at 2pm. All welcome.
  *   Chair Exercise Group meets to stretch to music every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Recreation Room. ALL WELCOME
  *   Monthly Bingo Night – Wednesday, 15th June at 7pm. Please book with Margaret Hull on Ext 1618
  *   Cake & Tea Thursday - Please join us on Thursday for Cake and a cup of Tea/Coffee and chats in the Bistro at 3pm for R25.00 per person.
  *   HNA Active Aging Class connects with residents to exercise in the recreation room on Fridays at
  *   Residents Braai – takes place every on Saturday evening.  Bring your own meat and refreshments and gather in the Bistro. Call Margaret Hull on Ext 1716 for additional information.

Forthcoming Events:

  *   “Let’s Talk, Part ll” - A follow-up presentation and workshop session will be held on Monday, 20 June at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to join us for a follow-up presentation on having this important conversation with loved ones. Please book your seat at reception on Ext1400 if you wish to attend the presentation for catering purposes. Tea and Biscuits will be served.
  *   Series Night - will take place on Friday, 24 June at 6pm. However, there will be a slight change to the programme. This will be the start be a series shown every two weeks on Friday’s at 6pm – The Lincoln Lawyer – An iconoclastic idealist runs his own law firm out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car. Based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels.
  *   Games Night will be held on 29 June at 7pm in the recreation Room. All welcome. Bring your own refreshments. Please book with Margie Lee on Ext 1519.
  *   Line Dancing Classes are set to commence in June. However, we need 8 people to start this class. Please contact Margie Lee on Ext. 1519 for booking and to confirm your spot.

General:

  *   Shopping Transport will meet at Village at 09h15 every alternate Tuesday. The next trip is planned for 14/06 [Constantia Village] and 28/06 (Blue Route). R30 per trip will be added to your levy account. It is important to book your seat with reception on Ext 1400. If we have no bookings by the Monday, we will cancel the trip for Tuesday.
  *   Just a reminder that we will collect Refuse Bins early on Monday. Please assist us and only put out your rubbish bins early on a Saturday (bins get emptied and swopped) and early on Monday morning (bins get washed and sanitized before they are replaced).
  *   Library – Please ensure that should you return a book to the library that you place it on the table clearly marked. We sanitize all books prior to putting them back on the shelf. Your cooperation is appreciated.
  *   No Load Shedding is planned but it could be implemented at short notice on the cold winter evenings.
  *   We respectfully request that each resident takes responsibility for their safety by wearing a mask, wash hands and sanitize often.
  *   I would also like to advise you that we have received confirmation that Evergreen Health, will not be administering any Covid-19 booster vaccinations. As noted in previous communication, residents are welcome to visit their nearest pharmacy or vaccination site should they wish to pursue the vaccine/booster.

External Refurbishment:

  *   Highpoint, the main contractor for the external refurbishment is in the process of finalising all the items/purchase orders required for him to commence the job at Diep River. We will keep you updated - general broadcasts and news flashes will follow.

Internal Refurbishment:

  *   I am happy to announce that the EPI refurbishment team will commence with bathroom/tiling work for residents, week commencing 20 June. I will be in touch with those residents in whose units the team will be working, to finalise arrangements.

Special Notice:

  *   I am pleased to announce that an opportunity has presented itself to our duty Manager, Siviwe de Beer to move across to Evergreen Muizenberg, as a Duty Manager. A post has been made available with immediate effect as staff are being promoted and positions are being reallocated to deserving employees.  Siviwe has been interested in moving to a bigger village to give him more exposure into the operational aspects of an Evergreen village and he has grabbed this with both hands.  I know that it is short notice but he will work on the weekend and will commence his with new position on Monday, 13 June. I wish him every success and I am sure that he will go form strength to strength
