Birthdays for this upcoming week – 10th September – Richard Gunther – Apt 108

Please note that from 01 September the new catering arrangement and increased prices will be implemented as per the circular recently distributed to residents.

  *   Just a reminder that WPC will not be operating the Bistro on Saturday – no meals will be served.
  *   I have attached the new menu for the Bistro Breakfasts and Toasted Sandwiches which will be available from Monday – Friday and Sunday. The September menu will be sent out early next week.
  *   There will be only one meal (Fish & Chips) on Friday at the standard meal price.
  *   In addition, please note that there will be no more ‘delivery charge’ to have your meal delivered to your unit, in the event that you are ill or feeling poorly.

The Daily Winter Soup Special offering is a Soup & Roll  (Monday to Friday) for only R25.00. Please pre-order or book your special from WPC on Ext 1404.

Activities coming up this week:

•                      Bridge Club, is held in the Recreation Room every Tuesday at 2pm. All welcome.

•                      Chair Exercise Group meets to stretch to music every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Recreation Room. ALL WELCOME

•                      Cake & Tea Thursday - Please join us on Thursday for Cake and a cup of Tea/Coffee and chats in the Bistro at 3pm for R25.00 per person.

•                      HNA Active Aging Class connects with residents to exercise in the recreation room on Fridays.

•                      Residents Braai – takes place every Saturday evening.  Bring your own meat and refreshments and gather in the Bistro. Call Margaret Hull on Ext 1716 for additional information.

•                      Alida’s Fashion 29th August in the recreation room from 9h30- 13h00, ALL WELCOME.

  *          Games Evening – Wednesday 31st August starts at 19h00 – please book with Mrs Margaret Lee - Ext 1519

External refurbishment:

  *   Highpoint Contractor’s have been working steadily on the external refurbishment and I must say that it makes such a difference to the exterior. I personally can’t wait to see this project finished. They have almost completed the horizontal areas for the 2nd and 3rd floor.
  *   From Monday, the next area they will focus on is the external security fences and walls. This will entrance and exit to/from village will be disrupted traffic a little in the early part of the week. The painters will commence on the front gate and will then move along the river move whilst the paint this fence.  This team will also be responsible for the boundary wall.
  *   In addition, another team will start next week by erecting scaffolding at the entrance to the basement parking (on the exit lane from the parking). Please drive slowly and follow directions when entering and leaving the village.
  *   I will be sending a circular out giving you a broad picture of developments and timelines next week. Please be aware of general broadcasts and news flashes.

General:

  *   Shopping Transport will meet at Village at 09h15 every alternate Tuesday. The next trip is planned for 06/09  (Blue Route) 20/09 (Constantia Village). R30 per trip will be added to your levy account. It is important to book your seat with reception on Ext 1400. If we have no bookings by the Monday, we will cancel the trip for Tuesday.
  *   Just a reminder that we will collect Refuse Bins early on Monday. Please assist us and only put out your rubbish bins early on a Saturday (bins get emptied and swopped) and early on Monday morning (bins get washed and sanitized before they are replaced).
  *   Library – Please ensure that should you return a book to the library that you place it on the table clearly marked. We sanitize all books prior to putting them back on the shelf. Your cooperation is appreciated.
  *   Have a lovely warm weekend.
