[Evergreen Diep River] ELV DR>Senior Santa - Douglas Murray Home for the Aged - Gift Deadline 10 December 2021

        Dear Resident

Just a reminder that we are collecting for the items for a Santa Box to present to the Douglas Murray Home for the Aged.

Our intention is to offer a gift to a senior citizen who might not otherwise receive a present this Christmas season. They are based in Retreat and have 29 men and 37 women. They support the community from employing staff that live around the Home and rely on donations and contribution to ensure that their Residents have a comfortable space and environment. We are requesting that our residents participate in this Christmas Gift initiative. Perhaps on your next shopping trip you buy a little tube of cream. Packet of wine gums, a box of biscuits and place it in the box provided at reception. All gift items will be collected and packed into a gift box on your behalf.

Gift Items that are required may include:

  *   Basic Toiletries (for sensitive skin): face cloth, soap, shampoo, body lotion, soft toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream and razors;
  *   Entertainment: Audio books and a small audio player, CDs or DVDs;
  *   Educational and Hobbies: Adult colouring books and crayons, plastic blunt-tipped scissors, puzzles, paint-by-number, wool and knitting supplies;
  *   Reading Material: pre-loved large print books and old magazines;
  *   Games: Scrabble, dominoes and crossword puzzles or a deck of playing cards;
  *   Snacks: Chocolate, chips, biscuits, biltong, dried fruits, vitamin rich sweets like Super C or Energade gums, Christmas pies and cookies and Lecol Juices; or
  *   Clothing that's easy to get on and off: cotton socks, slippers, track suits, knitted scarfs and beanies, pyjamas, slippers or non-slip socks or a soft throw blanket for the bed or chair;

Please identify your gift or box with a small label that includes if it's for a man or a woman and drop it off with Sethu at reception. If you prefer, please hand your gift item in to the administration office on 2nd Floor by no later than 12:00 on Friday, 10 December 2021. We hope that you will donate generously towards these events and activities.
