        Dear Resident,

As you may know I had to go home on Friday as one of our contacts tested positive and regrettably, I did not attend the year-end dinner on Friday evening for Diep River residents. My family all had the PCR test yesterday and the results came back this morning and I am pleased to inform you that we were all negative.

Amanda George, the assistant Village Manager, is doing very well after her daughter tested positive and she will be back after her isolation period on Friday, 17 December.

However, I regrettably have to inform you that Tatenda Muriranyama, our clinic nurse who was not feeling well on Saturday was tested and her PCR test came back positive for Covid-19 today.  I would like to wish Tatenda a speedy recovery and all the very best during this difficult time.

Given this news our COVID protocols have kicked in and will continue as follows:


*         We have done our contact tracing and there are a few residents that Tatenda had been looking after and who had been in contact with her. To be safe, we have spoken to them and their families and have asked that they isolate in their homes for five days. Depending on the outcomes, we may follow this up with a PCR test to ensure that they are not positive.
*         If you have had any dealing with Tatenda this past week, please advise Sharon Adams and continue monitor yourself for symptoms.
*         All healthcare and domestic staff are wearing protective gear.

We encourage all residents to practice social distancing; wear a mask over your nose and mouth when you are in a public place; ensuring good ventilation by meeting outdoors and having windows open in buildings and vehicles; hand washing and sanitising frequently; and importantly, to stay at home if you feel sick.

We advise you to please call the clinic/reception should you present with any symptoms including a scratchy or sore throat, flu like symptoms, body ache or fever.   If you suspect that you have coronavirus symptoms, please call the clinic or reception for assistance - please DO NOT leave your home to go to the clinic, they will come to you. It is vital that you report to Village Management as soon as you are not feeling well and that you isolate and do not socialise with other residents.

Furthermore, should you or any of your family go for a Covid-19 test, we respectfully request that you inform us immediately. Please do not let them visit you until they receive a negative result and we have been informed.  You are our main concern and your health and safety is very important to us - we are ready to assist in any way we can.
