[Evergreen Broadacres]

        Dear Residents,

Thank you to everybody who helped us last night to deal with the fire at house 36.


We are grateful  that Sally and her dog are both unharmed and well.  She is staying with her daughter for now.  We have received a lot of calls from residents wanting contact details of her family and residents wanting to offer assistance.

This is such a tremendous proof of the fantastic sense of community we have in the village.  We ask that you give Sally and her family some time to work through the shock of the situation.  We will be communicating details of how and where people can assist if they want to.

We can confirm that the security lady that we send to hospital was discharged this morning having sustained a minor injury only.
For now, please don't go into the house, it has been cordoned off and needs to be left undisturbed for inspectors and investigators to come and look at it.
Please treat it as an off limits area.

Also please let us not speculate and pass on hear say information about what happened.  We have heard so many conflicting stories already.

I am taking statements from those who were on site first and we are co operating with the Fire department and their investigation team as well.
