American Independence Day Social - 3 July

Hi Y'all,

Don't forget to dress in red, white and blue for our special USA Independence Day Social on Wednesday, 3 July 2019.  A special menu will be available with appropriate music in the background.

The draw for the Durban July Sweepstake will take place also during the evening.

6 July 2019: Durban July Sweep - Draw a horse and win!
It is really exciting to have a stack in the Durban July Horse Race.  We are selling tickets at R 20 each and this is your chance to be a winner!  Tickets are being sold through Judy Stuart (ext. 1087) and the draw for the horses will take place at the Independent Day Social on 3 July.

The Prizes Are:
1st Place: R500
2nd Place: R300
3rd Place: R200
4th Place: R100

We still have some tickets but the lists will close on Tuesday, 2 July.  The names of the people who draw a horse and the name of their horse will be on display on the notice board and be sent out via a Communique.  Winners will be contacted personally, after the race, and paid directly.

Money collected will be passed onto ResCom for future Hospitality Functions.

Well done to Marius, Graham, Richard, our Village Management Team and all who made it happen - the development looks fantastic.  We managed to get some new photos of the apartments.

Our weekly transport shuttle service to Shopping Centres and Medical Suites is working well.  Shuttle Service is available every Wednesday and Friday morning. The bus leaves the front of the Lifestyle Centre at 9:30 am.
We are open to suggestions from residents whilst trying to initially set the route to suit our needs.

RAND WATER WRAPS UP MARATHON MAINTENANCE WORK:
Following 54 hours of maintenance work, Rand Water is satisfied that all operations have been completed but urged residents to continue using water sparingly.  The utility provider undertook a R 600 million project to upgrade one of its pipelines.

"The project has been completed in terms of the work that we had planned in the 54 hours," says Eddie Singo, Rand Water's executive manager.
Water pressure is expected to increase by Thursday.
"We are expecting that by tonight the full commissioning will have been done and then the consumers will start seeing or experiencing pressure increase at least some time tomorrow morning."

SA YOUTH CHOIR SHINES ON AMERICA'S GOT TALENT 2019 AUDITION WITH
'MY AFRICAN DREAM' AMERICA'S GOT TALENT 2019 AUDITION

The Ndlovu Youth Choir's beautiful performance on the stage of the television show America's Got Talent (AGT) got 4 yeses from the judges, including Simon Cowell!  Their rendition of 'My African Dream', conducted by choir director Ralf Schmitt, composed by SA-born Alan Lazar, aired on US television on Tuesday night.

AGT is one of the biggest talent show in the world and the winning act receives a life-changing $1 million prize and global recognition.

The group all the way from Limpopo in South Africa blew the audience and judges away.

It was without a doubt 4 yeses from the judges and the youngsters are on to the next round!  And we wish them every success!
